The legal regimes in Germany and South Africa are different in many areas of the law, in particular the Law of Succession. When it comes to matters affected by both or more countries expertise in and experiences with the two systems are vital. We do have this.
It’s difficult enough to understand and to apply the national tax system of one country. Even more challenging is to handle matters of a tax payer affected by the laws of two countries. In this case one must have expertise in both national tax regimes as well as in the application of the respective Double Taxation Treaty. We have gained a lot of experience in this regard during the last couple of years.
Politics and the economy of the world are developing faster and faster; it has become more difficult to understand the interaction. In a situation like this it helps to at least be at home on two continents, and to be at the pulse of events happening in Europe and in South Africa.
